When going through the recruiting process you want to stand out against the competition. The best way to do that is to get your information in front of the coaches and their recruiter in a link they can easily access. Many athletes currently use recruiting services like berecruited.com or NCSA which provide you with a ‘Profile Page’. Below are some issues I see with that approach.

1. ALL of your competition is next to you! You put in the hard work of seeking out college coaches that you feel would be a good fit. You contact the coach and email him your profile address. Coach then goes to your profile and gets distracted by the thousands of other profiles. You have now been lost in the platform!

2. Flexibility! With Recruiting Profiles you are limited to only filling out information that is predetermined. This doesn't allow you to paint the full well rounded picture of who you really are!

3. You can only tell the story of one sport. Even if you aren't trying to get a scholarship for your secondary or tertiary sport; coaches like to recruit multiple sport athletes. Being a multiple sport athlete shows coaches that you are athletic beyond your main sport and that you are staying active beyond the sport you're getting recruited in.

Having a Personal Recruiting Website gives you a YourName.com URL (website name) that college coaches can easily remember. You are not competing with other profiles hosted on a website; you are your own website.

1. Your own website allows you to stand ALONE from your competition.

2. You can add more highlight and game films for coaches to see.

3. You can tell the whole story of who you are off the field. College coaches like to recruit and give scholarships to well-rounded student athletes. With your own website you can tell about your hobbies, community involvement, academics, show multiple pictures, and show your workout schedules and much more!

4. You can post your films, pics and stats of multiple sports.

5. You can choose your backgrounds and layout that have a much better look and feel.
